NSW make it 21 for all care leavers
Просмотров 41Год назад
We believe every young person deserves to be supported as they transition to independence. The NSW Government needs to extend out-of-home care until 21. 🔴 To make this happen, contact your local MP to #Makeit21.
It's your turn NSW: Why we need to extend foster care to 21
Просмотров 38Год назад
NSW is the only state that doesn’t extend comprehensive support to care leavers beyond the age of 18. Every young person transitioning to adulthood successfully needs ongoing support and assistance. Premier Perrottet needs to commit to extending care for ALL young people living in care in NSW.
It's your turn NSW to make it 21 for all care leavers

Did you know that NSW will soon be the only state in the country where care for all children in foster care, kinship care and residential care ends at age 18? The NSW Government needs to extend out-of-home care until 21. 👉 To make this happen, contact your local MP and tell them to #Makeit21.

Uniting Waverley Estate CARE Ageing In Place Farhad Haidari, Principal Architect from Architec
I love the passion, the integrity of the staff at Starrett Lodge. It's my dream to work in such a place, and to have the same level of care and support in every aged care facility. As someone who works in a dementia closed secure unit, it breaks my heart to see, and be a part of a task oriented ward. As much as I try to create a person centered environment, there is only so much I can do without the support of my co workers and management.
Knowledge about persons life history can open many ways to stimulating activities.
Watching this makes my heart melt. Dad has had to go into care - he is only young , 70 yrs of age. He is totally fine mind wise but he has no mobility suffering from a disease similar to MS .
I'm working as a caretaker looking after 91 years old, and at the moment I'm doing the age care course online and I'm looking forward to work in this industry, I'm very impressed watching the videos.
Im currently working as a Trainer and Assesor for Certificate III in Individual Support which is the entrant level qualification needed to work in aged care. Thank you so much for this video. I often used it as part of my learning plan. I want my student to see what's possible. Im hoping to inspire future carers to see thing through your eyes.
Nice content! but WHY WHY WHY Do you have to DROWN out the speakers with MUSIC??? Its not just you, it seems to be those making videos on Caring! Nearly EVERY video we are studying for Individual care and Every single time we have to choose Subs so we can HEAR whats being said as not everyone has the same HEARING RANGE!!!!! The spoken words are virtually USELESS!!!
God said let there be light from the first day of creation. That light means to me the light of Jesus. Been there from inception. I so look forward to being in that presence of God the father, son and Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit brings me to that light as the spirit abides in me.
This is such important information...and there aren't many research resources or results that are easily available to find as helpful as these ideas you have shared in this film. What a wonderful facility that you have there. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing video...🥰👏🏼♥️🙏🏻
Some segments in the video are stamped not adjacent to each other
This is a wonderful approach but as a nurse working in aged care I despair that there is little or no time to implement and enable the participation so needed for all residents.
I'm studying Aged Care at the moment. I just hope when I'm qualified I'm lucky enough to work in a Facility like this. Just beautiful.
Some segments in the video are stamped not adjacent to each other
That's great! to see everyone smile and have purpose in life. Great staff, great place great outcome. God bless all of you. That's inspired me too to make all of them happy.
It looks like a great place to work... I mean have fun! Everyone looks happy.
The problem is with these age car is ther are to meney workers how get to grops in groups like philpno and indens and speak in their legwig just like springwood home
I prefer this version: ruclips.net/video/7v0nzmm-gf8/видео.html
finally someone who says this can be done, and not just find excuses - I hope this care facility still exists and has never changed
What a way to go, well done all of you for your work and this video!
This is fantastic <3 I wish this could be a standard for all aged care facilities
I'm looking forward to Christmas ending. I never buy presents or cards for anyone not even family the cards I get go straight in the recycling bin. People call me Scrooge, he has nothing on me, he cracked after 3 visits.
This has been amazing, a blessing, God bless their work, their residents...so good to hear and see the results.
Amazing work!
What a powerful statement of the need for welcoming asylum seekers. Jeff Telfer, Adelaide
TO REFLECT ON AND ALWAYS REMEMBER - OUR AGED “DON’T LET YOUR INDIFFERENCE BE THE DIFFERENCE THAT PREVENTS YOU FROM MAKING THAT DIFFERENCE ” THANK YOU UNITING How many people really wonder, and really care ? About the young folks who grow old and are losing their hair ? How many members of family forget to visit their old parents ? That have been placed out into old peoples homes, hospitals and aged care ? How many old people suffer with the pain, the anguish and the despair ? When they are continually waiting for their loved ones , never visits on a hope and a never ending prayer.! When are we going to really reflect, on our community values of love, understanding, trust and respect ? When we haven’t realised that we may be also the future victims and role model examples of our forgotten neglect ? !! Why are so many of us wondering why others haven’t acted before, and helped our loved ones with understanding , love, empathy and mutual undeniable respect ? !!! Luckily, there are community groups & organisations, helping and realigning the lives of the aged and delicate to reconnect. Security, equality, support, and the love of respect , is being provided to helping insulate those from some of our obvious community forgotten neglects ! There are so many carers that have taken the heed, and are gladly helping so many of those in aged care and in desperate need. Our aged loved ones need to be remembered and provided that undeniable care, the patient understanding, and support so desperately required and not provided out there. Our loved ones will sit there, remember and smile, when they are touched with our humanity and genuine shared care and pride. Most reconnect to some of their moments and memories in time, when they are able to feel and remember kindness, laughter, and the company of loved ones and all those good times. The foundation values of dedication , empathy, trust, respect , excellence, growth, and commitment to the aged community - are just some of the token values that provide our aged with a safe sense of calm and security. So are we all going to consider and remember, that we all should reflect and act now- DON’T LET YOUR INDIFFERENCE BE THE DIFFERENCE THAT PREVENTS YOU FROM MAKING THAT DIFFERENCE ” gjk ..............................................................THANK YOU UNITING FOR MAKING THAT DIFFERENCE THOUGH THIS DOCUMENTARY

Hi, I saw the film from Italy, very inspiring, I would like to translate the undertitles from English into Italian, for learning something for us in Europe from these best practises from Australia. I was impressed from the capacity and motivation of the staff!
Brilliant! Bravo! Hallelujah alright!
This is the place I always love to work and serve the aging society and community...
This is the amazing support and heartly encuouranging, Thank you all for evrythings for their daily living support.
Perfect!! It bought an actual tear to my eye. I would travel to the other side of the world to work for this man.
You did such a wonderful job! We must have this in Singapore!
As an aged care RN Lovely this is what aged care is Keep up the good work dont stop Mary
Wow! What an incredible and inspiring sound! Do you have any more videos from the day?
Awesome! As someone living with dementia symptoms myself, Thank you Colin and crew, for your APPLICATION of "heart-centered care", (& I agree with other commenter; it is a wonderful term) <3
Hello, my grandma is in this video. If it is possible, can we find a way for this video to be sent to me?
I think I cried most of the way through this...it's beautiful
Fantastic work.
LOVE IT! :)
mom & others seniors a must watch
Wow, great work.
Just so rich and real.
This is inspirational video in many ways - it captures the why - why I want people to see that we can make a great difference to the lives of our seniors - I encourage people who want to make a difference to consider working on Aged Care
So very wonderful!!!
On tap, not on top.....such a great way of sharing energy.
Just love this film with its emphasis on putting relationships before tasks; seeing that all people have a right to choice and agency in their lives whether or not they are living with dementia; the residents having important roles which are valued in the community( loved the two sales managers of the bucket list!) and the intergenerational and interspecies relational elements. Wow ! wow! wow!
Wow to the guy parachuting, he has more guts than me,
Alright Alright ALRIGHT!
YAY! Someone gets it! I knew all of this intuitively as soon as I saw my Mom decline when she was placed in a so-called "care facility." I wish all "traditional" care facilities could get past believing their model and system is right and really get focused on the people who are living with dementia. Congratulations on your excellent approach to care! We all need to follow your innovative, loving and sensible model. Thank you so much!
THIS IS A WONDERFUL DOCO. WELL DONE.
Congrats on this moving and powerful film.
this is wonderful and heart-warming. I am so impressed with how you do person-centred care. Not just lip-service, but real heart-centred care.
Thanks Wanasai. I love your phrase "heart-centred care"… It's the first time I'm hearing it. Person-centred care was a very important idea when Tom Kitwood first wrote about it, but it has now become the "description" all sorts of places use for the same old stuff they've done. Colin and his team put true meaning on it, as we believe the video shows so well.
Yeah well it was your video that made me say it :) How could we do any less and stay true to our own being? YOu people are love in action.
